Baxter's Advate Receives Room Temperature Storage Approval
Compton, England, 29th January 2007 – Baxter Healthcare Ltd. today announced the approval of room temperature storage for Advate, the only factor VIII product processed without blood-based additives. The approval in the European Union allows for 2 months of room temperature storage within the approved shelf life of 24 months at 2° to 8°C.

European mental health groups unite to issue call to action on metabolics in mental health
And leading clinicians name UNITE Survey a ‘wake up call to psychiatry’
PARIS, September 16th:
GAMIAN-Europe and EUFAMI today issued a call for action to address a growing crisis for people with mental illness – the relentless increase in CHD risk in this population. The statement followed presentation of the results of one of the largest ever global patient and carer surveys in psychiatry . It was echoed by demands for the clinical community to urgently address the physical health of their patients, by leading international clinicians who dubbed the results ‘staggering’.

Advate’s safety profile confirmed
August 10th 2006 – The MHRA has announced the removal of Advate’s (Octocog Alfa Recombinant Coagulation Factor VIII) black triangle symbol, confirming its risk/benefit balance.  The move marks the end of a period of detailed surveillance following the UK launch of Advate, the first and only haemophilia therapy without blood-based additives used for the prevention and control of bleeding episodes in people with haemophilia A.

SMC Accepts Angiox™ use in Scotland
7th March, 2005, Glasgow - Angiox™ (bivalirudin), a short-acting thrombin-specific anticoagulant, is now approved for restricted use in NHS Scotland in patients undergoing PCI procedures such as angioplasty, balloon angioplasty and percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty (PCTA) with stenting.
